Plan around hours you can actually bill

The tool starts with your annual personal target, adds enough to fund your chosen reserve, then adds business expenses. It divides the required revenue by your billable hours. At CAD 4,000 per month, CAD 600 monthly expenses, 25 billable hours and 46 billed weeks, the required rate before reserve is CAD 48 per hour.

A chosen reserve is not a tax calculation

At 0% reserve, your personal target is before personal tax. A reserve is a planning choice, not your marginal tax rate. The published Revenu Québec reference rows below help frame a discussion; they do not calculate your own tax bill. Sales taxes collected, unbillable administration and unpaid holidays must be considered separately.

Revenu Québec self-employed tax and contribution tables. Reference rows apply to the stated self-employment assumptions and are not interpolated.
