Sources, calculation methods and limitations
English tools reuse the same calculation engines as their French counterparts. Translation does not change Canadian tax rules, currency or assumptions. These are planning estimates, not a tax return or an official pay statement.
Québec employment-income estimates: 2026
Standard assumptions: a Québec employee aged 18–64 for the full year, normally contributing to QPP and claiming basic personal amounts. The model calculates annual federal/Québec tax, QPP, EI and QPIP. Additional QPP contributions and the Québec worker deduction reduce the relevant tax bases. Federal credits and the Québec federal tax abatement are applied. Monthly, biweekly and weekly figures are averages (12, 26 and 52 periods), not exact payroll withholding.
Family credits, pension deductions, insurance, union dues and personal tax circumstances are not modeled. The self-employed and construction tools use separate planning assumptions; they do not reuse employee tax estimates as a self-employed tax bill.

Sales tax, business and everyday tools
GST is 5% and QST is 9.975% of the price before tax. Reverse tax searches cent-rounded amounts consistent with the invoice total; rounding can create a one-cent reconciliation difference. Exempt, zero-rated and special transactions require separate treatment. Business calculators use the price, costs, rates, tiers and time period you choose. They do not decide tax deductibility or contractual entitlements.
Gross annual salary = hourly rate × paid hours per week × paid weeks. Mileage references use the published 2026 provincial rates and account for distance already claimed before the current request; a reference rate is not an automatic employer obligation.
Materials, renovation and capital gains
Material quantities use your dimensions, product coverage/yield and allowances. Prices and incomplete quotes stay explicitly uncertain; taxes and included costs are not counted twice. Renovation reserves apply to costs after tax before later aid. Capital gains use sale proceeds minus adjusted cost base and selling fees; the ordinary inclusion portion is not the tax payable. Special situations and business-income treatment require separate review.
