Salary is only part of the offer
For each offer, enter salary, monthly out-of-pocket work costs, working hours, commuting hours and weeks actually worked. The tool subtracts annual work costs from estimated net salary, then divides by working and commuting time.
Example and interpretation
Compare CAD 60,000 with CAD 70,000, then change commuting time and monthly costs. A larger salary can still provide less spendable money per hour of committed time. Costs are cash outflows here, not a determination of tax deductibility. Benefits, leave quality and job security are not assigned a dollar value.
These are annual planning estimates for Québec employment income in 2026, not a payroll statement or tax return. They include estimated federal and Québec income tax, QPP, EI and QPIP. Pension-plan deductions, insurance, union dues, RRSP deductions, family credits and other individual circumstances are not modelled. Periodic amounts are annual averages.
